Other people

Phil who helped out.

Ernie the blacksmith who died in Pop’s arms.

Summer folks who came from the lakes.

The strange folks at the other farm and the house at the corner that had a garbage dump. Both places belonged to Pop.

  1. I was one of those summer kids from Lac Louisa. Began my summer visits in 1961 and as I matured, drove up from Montreal on weekends. My first horse was a Canadien named Shannon that Pop had stabled at Nuns Island. She cost me $450. in 1968. Pop gave me my start and from there I certified (BHSAI), in England in '72 at Crabbet Arabian Stud, Coronation Stables, Crawley, Sussex. Then rode in the eastern townships at 3 Pines, Foster QC, riding TB eventers and finally in Schomberg, ON at Barb McGuinness's (US Dressage Team), coaching and training in Dressage. Loved seeing this blog, thanks for the memories xo.
